The History of Silverstone Dental
Dr. Nielsen opened the doors of Silverstone Dental in the early summer of 2010, and has maintained a small, intimate, private practice since. While the office has grown significantly since those early days, Dr. Nielsen has been striving to maintain that small, comfortable feeling that is familiar to his patients.
Keeping up on the latest, clinically relevant, and highest quality technology and materials is a big part of Silverstone Dental. In an effort to do that Dr. Nielsen spends a significant amount of time seeking out quality continuing educational opportunities and keeping up on the latest research.
Education
Dr. Nielsen graduated from Highlands Ranch High School in the southern Denver suburbs in 1996. In 2004 he finished up his undergraduate education at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. While at BYU Dr. Nielsen was able to gain valuable lab and research experience working in BYUs evolutionary biology and marine biology labs while earning his BS in Biology.

Upon completing his undergraduate degree Dr. Nielsen then attended dental school at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Nielsen earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree in 2008. He then elected to complete a General Practice Residency (GPR) at Yale University School of Medicine and Yale-New Haven Hospital. This was a unique opportunity for Dr. Nielsen to gain dental experience in a hospital setting with some of the most influential dentists and medical professionals in the country. With rotations in internal medicine, anesthesiology, emergency medicine, oral surgery and pediatric dentistry, there isn't much Dr. Nielsen hasn't seen or treated. Dr. Nielsen continues to rely on those relationships and experiences to inform his treatment of patients today.

Dr. Nielsen also continues to seek out continuing education opportunities to refine his treatment and keep updated on the latest materials and technology the profession has to offer.
Family
Dr. Nielsen met his wife Julie while in college and they were married in the summer of 2001. Together they have 3 children, Clementine (2007), Lily (2009) and Hunter (2017). The three of them keep things interesting. Clementine is an avid reader, Lily is the artist of the family and Hunter is all about trains!

They all enjoy traveling as much as possible, especially in Colorado, where they have seen just about every corner of the state multiple times and ridden every train available. Julie enjoys planning and does a fantastic job of coordinating the next new adventure.
Hobbies and Interests
If it's "typical Colorado", it is also most likely typical Brent Nielsen. When he isn't in the office doing dentistry he's likely outdoors enjoying all Colorado has to offer. Growing up in the state he has gained an appreciation for all kinds of Colorado style activities. He has summited a large majority of Colorado's 14ers, fly fished hundreds of miles of its rivers and snowboarded on a number of its mountainous slopes. He's no stranger to sleeping in the back of his car to get an early hiking start or the first chair at a favorite ski resort.

Dr. Nielsen also spent a number of his younger years pursuing artistic endeavors, and recently took some of them back up. He enjoys photography and painting, two activities that couple well with Colorado scenery. Music has also been a big part of his life from an early age. He began playing violin in grade school and since that time has taken up guitar and ukulele as well as experimenting with keyboards and synthesizers.

If there is one thing to know about Dr. Nielsen it's that he doesn't like to sit still!
